We visited Long John Silvers one evening, at 8:23 pm. I know this, because I looked at my watch because of the way we were treated upon entering the restaurant. More on that later. My wife and I used a coupon for a Two Can Dine chicken for $5.99 meal. Our son chose the Sampler, which consisted of a piece of chicken, a piece of fish and 3 shrimp. We also ordered the Lobster Bites to share. The food was hot and fresh. I think that the chicken planks shrink with every visit. But they tasted good. LJS's french fries always leave me wanting something else, and tonight was no exception. The slaw was fresh tasting as were the hush puppies. The Lobster Bites are a nice change, with a very buttery flavored breading. The real review here is the service. To put it into one word: ATROCIOUS. As we walked in the door, we were informed that the store was closing in about 20 minutes. The door says that they close at nine o'clock. With my math, that makes almost 40 minutes. What made it worse, as people came in behind us, she kept repeating it, and seemed to get ruder. In other words, she was not so subtly suggesting that we did not have time to eat in. Everyone in the restaurant, there were about 4 other tables, was commenting on the behavior of the workers. A girl sweeping was slamming chairs around, showing her agitation. The people next to us commented that they had asked for a refill of iced tea. The container outside was empty. Initially they told her she couldn’t have any, as they needed it for the last hour that the drive thru was open! Also, there was no catsup in the pump, and after repeated comments about it, none was offered. The 'manager' came out from preparing food at one point, and was loudly talking to the girl sweeping, complaining about some training that had gone on that day. It seems that these folks have forgotten who pays their wages. Perhaps it is time for a little shakeup. The rating here is not due to the food, rather the poor poor service and attitude of the workers. Our Rating: 1.5 out of 5
